Dear Leigh Resident
I am Southend born and bred and went to local schools growing up, so this area has always been a big part of my life. I know it well, not just from living here but from seeing how it’s changed over the years and what really matters to the people who call it home.
I’ve worked in finance for nearly ten years now, building up my experience and learning to take a practical, common-sense approach to problems. Outside of work, my world really revolves around my family. I’ve been with my partner for six years and we’re raising our child locally, which gives me a real personal stake in the future of the area and the kind of place it is to grow up in.
I love live music and try to get to concerts whenever I can. Closer to home, I spend a lot of my spare time in Leigh. It’s somewhere I’ve always enjoyed, whether that’s for a walk, seeing friends, or just taking in the atmosphere.
It’s got a strong sense of community and a character that makes it stand out.
Although I don’t live in the ward itself, I spend a lot of time there and understand the day to day issues people deal with. Like everyone else, I know parking is a major problem and something that affects residents, visitors and local businesses alike. It’s one of those issues that comes up time and time again because it genuinely impacts people’s daily lives.
I care about the area because it’s always been part of who I am, and I want to see it work better for the people who live here.
